ひだまり小学校五年生の四葉こころは、「物にはみんな魂がある」という祖母の教えを守り、物を大切に使っている。ある日、愛用の色鉛筆から、物の神様見習い「ここたま」のラキたまが生まれる瞬間を目撃する。二人は「ヒミツのけいやく」を結び、ヒミツの友達になる。
